In August, she learned the role she had held at Network 10 for more than 14 years was beingmade redundant. Like somany South Australians, losing work was just one by-product of the climate and health crises. On air on SAFM, just one day after her redundancywas announced, she spokewith grace and honesty about the situation– yes, shewas devastated, but her overwhelming concernwas for her team: “My heart breaks for them,” she said at the time. And she knows she still haswork: “I’mso lucky to still havemy radioposition, a luxury I knowmany other SouthAustralianswho have lost their jobs in the tough economic times do not have.” Re ecting on the last fewmonths, she says: “I’ve been sooverwhelmedby the number of peoplewho have reachedout tome too er “SouthAustralian businesses are the lifebloodof our community, and shopping locally helps keepmoney, jobs and pride inour state.
